Where the music takes me

Standing ready on the shore

I gaze at the glittering sea;

Waves whisper, I open the door

To find Life-the-future-me…

Going where the music takes me

Riding on a feathered steed;

Going where tomorrow claims me,

Fearless as I gather speed.

Sheets of stories, used and worn,

Paved my passage to this brink,

Hates and Loves, a dream is born

And from the Pool of tunes I drink.

Going where the music takes me,

Riding on a feathered steed;

Going where tomorrow claims me,

Fearless as I gather speed!

Aziraphale is the most character ever. He ran out of ideas so he declared war on hell. He canonically says fuck. His favourite colour is yellow. He’s literally an angel and can speak every language on earth but still isn’t fluent in french. He told his boyfriend to shoot him for his magic act and made him go through with it when their miracles weren’t working. He gave away his flaming sword and then lied about it for the next 6000 years. He has a bookshop that never sells books. No one’s doing it like him.

luthienspower asked:

Hi, Neil!

I was wondering, why doesn't Crowley have a "normal human job" like Aziraphale. Like Aziraphale is a bookseller. Why isn't Crowley like a chef or something like that.

neil-gaiman:

I remember in 1991 one of the notes Terry and I got from the studio on our original script was that Crowley needed a job as well and that Aziraphale needed a more glamorous job than Bookseller. It was the first time I’d ever written a script so I tried giving Crowley a job in the next draft, but he wasn’t really very good at it, and it wasn’t very convincing.

He sort of has a job in 1941.

neil! I always see pictures of you wearing a black shirt, black skinny jeans, and a black overcoat. is this your daily attire? why? (not judging, just curious)

My daily attire is a bright red coat, a green tee shirt and yellow trousers. They just show up black in photos.

Ha! I joke with you amusingly.

It is indeed my daily attire. It keeps the elements at bay and gives me a place to put my keys, stops me being arrested on charges of public nudity and so much more.

Sometime in the late 90s, possibly at a book signing or a Comic Book Legal Defence Fund reading, I heard you say

“I love black. Black goes with everything. Well, goes with everything black anyway.”

… and I quote it frequently.
